During my stay in Germany, I had an extensive to-do list. I had to go to the authorities in Arnsberg and Frankfurt, renew my passport, apply for a new EU driving licence and also get an international driving licence. I also had to take care of a C1D visa and a B1/B2 visa for the USA. Finally, there was an important E300 meeting in Hamburg. It was an extremely busy time with many different commitments.
In the midst of all my commitments and undertakings in Germany, there was a special occasion, – my mother’s 91st birthday. This had to be celebrated, of course!
Idyllic late summer impressions from the Sauerland rounded off the following days. The picturesque landscape and the warm colours sometimes create a magical experience that one likes to absorb.
Before I headed back home to the Azores, I had another business commitment that took me to Gibraltar. There I attended an important meeting and gave a presentation. Although time was short, I was able to make valuable contacts. This last business stop rounded off my trip before I headed back.
After fulfilling my obligations in Germany, I was finally able to return home to my dream island of Santa Maria on 6th November.
I used the remaining time to prepare for my next trip and enjoyed dinner with a German friend at a beach restaurant in Anjos, the oldest village on Santa Maria. It was a perfect opportunity to review the experiences and make new plans.
