After the last few weeks in the big city fever I am now drawn to the country. From Lisbon to the southern Algarve coast is only 300 km. Relatively far in the west between Lagos and Sagres I have found a pleasant place to stay in the former 250 soul fishing village Burgau. Meanwhile, the village lives mainly from the tourists, who mostly stay in the many holiday houses and apartments, but fortunately they are rarely seen at this time. Nevertheless, some cafés, bars and restaurants are open outside the season in addition to the three shops. The first excursion is of course to the famous coastal rock formations Ponta da Piedade (“Point of Piety”) in Lagos. Otherwise, the next few days will be spent in peace and quiet.
