Shortly after 8 this morning it was still dark in Lestedo, but this was also due to the permanent storm. Nothing helped, I had to go, at least it was already dawning and I could see the signs of the Way of St James. It is once again a very wet day. I use the short phases of the clearing weather for one or two snapshots before it gets dark again and rains again. The temperature also drops. It is 2°C. Two South Koreans overtake me and fight with the mud and the partly flooded path. On the way I meet Sergio and Katalina at a pilgrim resting place, who are having breakfast there. I also get to know Cheuk Him and Scarlett from Hong Kong. We talk about the problems, unrest and backgrounds there. Despite the almost uninterrupted rain everyone is in a good mood, singing through the rain and the photo and video clip must not be missed. There are clearly more women than men on the road, the whole time already, and interestingly enough many Asians, mainly from South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The three Chinese from Taiwan, who take a break in the rain on a pilgrim bench, I simply had to photograph. Up to my accommodation in Melide it rains. Since two days my right leg, more precisely the hollow of my knee, is plaguing me and I have already played through all possible differential diagnostic traumatological-orthopedic alternatives. Yesterday my gait could no longer be denied. Above all I had to limp downhill. But the development of the pain over the last two days, the improvement when walking and the bruise on the calf, which showed itself today for the first time, let me solve the riddle: Muscle fiber tear! Unpleasant but harmless. I don’t know how I got that either. No trauma to remember! You just get old and frail!
Ireland – for decades on my bucket list
Ireland has always been on my bucket list, especially as I find the landscape and climate so inspiring. After the past eventful years, it would
